RFM Statement of Faith
The biblical beliefs and doctrinal foundation of Rooted Faith Ministry.
1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God. It is without error in its original writings and is the supreme guide for all faith and life.
2. God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
3. The Father
We believe God the Father is infinite, holy, and full of love. He is the Father of all who believe in Jesus Christ, providing for them, disciplining them, and drawing them into relationship with Himself.
4. Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God — fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory.
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He convicts of sin, regenerates believers, indwells, empowers, and transforms them, and unites them as the body of Christ.
6. Creation
We believe God created all things by His Word, and that everything He made was good. Humanity is the crown of His creation, made in His image.
7. Humanity
We believe all people are created in the image of God, with inherent dignity and worth. We are made for relationship with God and with one another.
8. Sin
We believe that through the disobedience of Adam, sin entered the world. All have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Sin separates us from God and brings spiritual and eternal death.
9. Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn it. Christ died for our sins and rose again so that all who believe in Him are forgiven, justified, and given eternal life.
10. Repentance
We believe repentance is turning from sin and turning to God with the whole heart. It involves godly sorrow, confession, and a changed life.
11. Faith
We believe faith is trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. It is the means by which we receive God's grace and enter into relationship with Him.
12. The New Birth
We believe that whoever believes in Jesus Christ is born again of the Holy Spirit, becoming a child of God and a new creation.
13. Sanctification
We believe sanctification is the lifelong process by which the Holy Spirit transforms believers into the likeness of Christ, producing holiness, love, and spiritual fruit.
14. Prayer
We believe prayer is the believer's communication with God. It includes worship, thanksgiving, confession, intercession, and petition. God hears and answers prayer.
15. The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who believe in Him. It is called to worship, prayer, teaching, fellowship, evangelism, and service.
16. Spiritual Gifts
We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers for the building up of the Church and the work of ministry. All gifts are to be exercised in love and for God's glory.
17. Evangelism
We believe the Church is called to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, inviting people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
18. Christian Living
We believe believers are called to live holy, godly lives — loving God and neighbor, walking in truth, and bearing witness to Christ in word and deed.
19. Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead — the saved to eternal life and joy with God, and the lost to eternal separation from Him.
20. Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His eternal kingdom.
21. Eternal Life
We believe eternal life is knowing God through Jesus Christ. It begins now for the believer and continues forever in the presence and glory of God.
