RFM Volunteer Policy
Standards and procedures for people serving voluntarily in Rooted Faith Ministry.
1. Purpose
This policy defines the standards and procedures for people serving voluntarily in Rooted Faith Ministry.
2. Who is a Volunteer
A volunteer is anyone who serves in RFM without financial compensation, offering their time, gifts, and energy for ministry purposes.
3. Volunteer Eligibility
Volunteers should be committed followers of Jesus Christ, in good standing, and willing to serve according to RFM's values and policies.
4. Recruitment
Volunteers are recruited based on character, gifting, and the needs of the ministry. Recruitment shall be transparent and fair.
5. Application
Prospective volunteers may be asked to complete an application, provide references, and undergo screening, especially for roles involving children or finances.
6. Training
Volunteers shall receive appropriate training for their roles, including orientation to RFM's mission, values, and policies.
7. Responsibilities
Volunteers are responsible for fulfilling their assigned duties faithfully, punctually, and with excellence, honoring Christ in all they do.
8. Christian Conduct
Volunteers must conduct themselves in a manner consistent with biblical teaching — showing love, integrity, humility, and respect.
9. Confidentiality
Volunteers must protect confidential information shared within the ministry, including prayer requests, personal information, and ministry matters.
10. Digital Conduct
Volunteers must follow the RFM Digital Community Guidelines in all online communication and digital ministry activities.
11. Safeguarding
Volunteers working with children or vulnerable persons must follow the RFM Child Protection Policy at all times.
12. Financial Responsibility
Volunteers handling ministry funds must do so with integrity, transparency, and accountability, following the RFM Financial Policy.
13. Communication
Volunteers should communicate respectfully and clearly with leaders, fellow volunteers, and members.
14. Supervision
Volunteers serve under the supervision of ministry leaders and are accountable for their service.
15. Performance
Volunteers are expected to serve faithfully. Where performance issues arise, they shall be addressed with grace and truth.
16. Complaints
Complaints about or by volunteers shall be handled fairly, promptly, and with a spirit of reconciliation.
17. Conflict of Interest
Volunteers must disclose any conflicts of interest and refrain from using their volunteer position for personal gain.
18. Suspension
A volunteer may be suspended from service pending investigation of misconduct or policy violations.
19. Removal
A volunteer may be removed from service for persistent misconduct, policy violations, or behavior inconsistent with RFM's values.
20. Resignation
Volunteers may resign from their roles with appropriate notice and communication.
21. Recognition and Appreciation
RFM values and appreciates all volunteers. Their service is recognized as a vital contribution to the ministry of Christ.
Principle: Volunteering is service, not ownership or personal entitlement.
This document forms part of the internal governance and ministry framework of Rooted Faith Ministry. Where applicable, RFM shall comply with Nigerian law and other relevant legal requirements. Formal legal adoption or registration should be reviewed by an appropriately qualified Nigerian legal professional.
